What Honk collects, why it is used, who helps process it, and the choices available to you.
Pre-launch notice
Paid domain registration is not yet available. This policy describes the current website and the operating rules Honk is preparing for launch. Commercial terms, legal-entity details, launch markets, and any jurisdiction-specific notices will be finalized before checkout opens.

Information we collect
- Account identity, verified email, display name, authentication events, and security settings supplied through Clerk.
- Support or abuse-report content, contact details, and communications you choose to send.
- Technical records such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, request identifiers, and security logs.
- At service launch, the registrant, administrative, technical, billing, and transaction data required by the relevant TLD, registrar, registry, payment provider, or law.
How information is used
- Provide accounts, authenticate users, and protect the service.
- Respond to enquiries and investigate domain abuse or security incidents.
- Maintain audit records, prevent fraud, enforce policies, and comply with legal obligations.
- At launch, submit registration data, complete transactions, manage domains, and send operational notices.
Service providers and disclosures
Current infrastructure providers include Clerk for authentication, Neon for application data, and Vercel for hosting and delivery. WebNIC is the planned upstream registry-services provider. Providers receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and operate under their own legal and security obligations.
We may also disclose relevant information to an upstream registrar, registry operator, hosting provider, payment provider, competent authority, or professional adviser where necessary to provide service, investigate harm, resolve a dispute, or comply with law. We do not sell personal information.
Domain registration data
Registration data is collected according to the applicable TLD and provider requirements. Some data may be transferred internationally and made available through registration-data services where policy or law requires. Privacy or proxy services do not remove the duty to provide accurate underlying data.
The current ICANN Registration Data Policy governs accredited registrars and registry operators. Honk will pass through the requirements applicable to customers through its upstream registrar relationship.
Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, contractual obligations, dispute handling, security, and applicable law. Retention periods differ by record type and will be finalized before paid services launch.
Honk uses access controls, encryption in transit, provider security controls, audit logging, and data minimization. No system is perfectly secure, so users should maintain strong account security and report suspected compromise promptly.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to complain to a privacy regulator. Some records cannot be deleted immediately where they are needed for security, disputes, registry obligations, or law.
Use the contact page to make a privacy request. We may need to verify identity before responding. Account security and email preferences can also be managed from the dashboard where available.
Children, changes, and contact
Honk is not directed to children and does not knowingly offer accounts to people who cannot enter a binding agreement in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us.
This notice will be updated as services and processors change. The date and version at the top identify the current public notice.
