Terms of service

The ground rules for using honk.gg, creating an account, and—once launched—requesting domain services through Honk.

Last updated 6 August 2026Version TERMS-2026.08

Pre-launch notice

Paid domain registration is not yet available. This policy describes the current website and the operating rules Honk is preparing for launch. Commercial terms, legal-entity details, launch markets, and any jurisdiction-specific notices will be finalized before checkout opens.

Plain-language note

These pages are operational drafts, not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

01

Scope and acceptance

These terms apply when you browse honk.gg, create or use a Honk account, contact us, or use a service that expressly incorporates them. By using the site, you agree to follow these terms and the policies linked from them.

Paid registration, renewal, transfer, DNS, and payment functions are not yet open. Before those functions launch, Honk will publish the applicable commercial details and identify the contracting entity and any market-specific terms.

02

Accounts and security

  • Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • Protect your sign-in methods, recovery channels, and devices; do not share one-time codes or recovery secrets.
  • Notify Honk promptly if you believe an account or domain has been compromised.
  • You are responsible for actions taken through your account unless applicable law requires otherwise.
03

Using the service

You may use Honk only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the acceptable use policy. You must not interfere with the site, bypass access controls, test systems without authorization, or use automation in a way that degrades service for others.

Domain availability results, prices, registry rules, and premium status can change. A search result is not a reservation or guarantee of registration. A domain is not registered until the upstream registrar or registry confirms it.

04

Registrar and third-party services

Honk relies on service providers for identity, hosting, data storage, and—at launch—registry access and payments. Your use of a domain may also be governed by ICANN policies, the applicable registry rules, and the upstream registrar agreement.

We may change a provider where reasonably necessary, while continuing to handle personal data as described in the privacy policy.

05

Availability, changes, and suspension

We aim to operate the service carefully, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, security incidents, provider failures, registry actions, or legal requirements can affect availability.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law or provider obligations, or preserve service integrity. Reports are assessed on evidence and context; report volume alone does not determine an outcome.

06

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the pre-launch site is provided as available and without implied guarantees beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded. Honk is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by reliance on an unconfirmed availability result or by services outside Honk's reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Launch terms will state any monetary liability cap only after the contracting entity and markets are confirmed.

07

Changes and questions

We may update these terms as the product, providers, or law changes. Material changes will be dated and, where appropriate, notified before taking effect. Continued use after an effective update means the revised terms apply to later use.
